The planned apartment building in the suburb has been reduced after residents' complaints
The planned construction of a 12-apartment building in a Klaipeda suburb has been scaled back following concerns from local residents regarding safety and insufficient parking.
Plans for a new apartment building on an empty plot at the beginning of Pusu Street in Klaipeda suburb have been adjusted to include 12 two-room apartments, down from an initial proposal of 15. The total area of the building will be 860 square meters, and its heating will be provided by natural gas with electric boilers for hot water. The project also includes plans for recreational areas and children's playgrounds nearby.
The changes come in response to complaints from residents of the neighboring Litorina Street, who expressed concerns about the lack of space for fire trucks to turn around and insufficient parking for residents. Additionally, the placement of the building was criticized for being too close to property boundaries. The construction company, Sandarus būstas, was established in Klaipeda just over two years ago and is being overseen by a single individual.
Originally proposed last year, the project generated significant local feedback, leading to revisions aimed at addressing the community's needs and enhancing overall safety in the area. These adjustments reflect the importance of local engagement in urban planning and highlight the ongoing concerns about adequate infrastructure in expanding suburban areas.
