Bomb threat to several schools in Delhi, security agencies on alert mode

Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails, prompting security agencies to go into alert mode and ensure safety measures are in place.

On Monday morning, three major schools in Delhi, including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya and Salwan Public School, received emails regarding bomb threats, which led security agencies to activate their alert protocols. The school administration quickly notified the police and the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) about the serious situation. In response to the threats, police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and fire department teams promptly arrived at the scene to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Upon arrival, the emergency response teams acted swiftly to evacuate students and staff from the schools. According to DFS officials, they have received calls from at least two of the schools, and extensive anti-sabotage investigations are underway. Searches of classrooms, corridors, and surrounding areas of the schools are being conducted thoroughly, though no suspicious items have been found so far.

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya communicated with parents, assuring them that all students are safe and that police are present at the school providing necessary security measures. The school administration also indicated that classes for younger students would resume once the investigation is complete, whereas senior students' exams are planned to restart after the investigation concludes as well. The incident underscores the ongoing concerns and necessary precautions surrounding safety in educational institutions in the capital.
