War in the Middle East... 90 MBA students from Pune and 23 people from Thane stranded in Dubai
90 MBA students from Pune and 23 individuals from Thane are stranded in Dubai due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the associated closure of airspace.
In a concerning incident, 84 MBA students along with four faculty members from the Indira School of Business Studies (ISBS) in Pune are currently stranded in Dubai as a result of the escalating conflict in the Middle East. They were on a five-day annual study tour when airspace restrictions due to the regional conflict hindered their return to India. The institution has reassured that all individuals are safe and have been relocated to a hotel in Bur Dubai while they await further information on their flights back home.
Initially, 40 students were scheduled to return on Saturday, with the remaining 44 due back on Sunday. However, with the airspace closure, their flight schedules were abruptly canceled, leaving them in limbo. The university's administration is in constant communication with government officials and relevant agencies to ensure the safe and timely return of the stranded students and faculty. Dean Janardan Pawar emphasized the safety of all individuals involved as the utmost priority and expressed hope for a resolution soon.
Chairperson Tarita Shankar of the Indira Group of Institutes highlighted that ensuring the safety of the students and faculty is the institution's top concern. They are continuously updating the students and their families about the situation, demonstrating a commitment to promptly address the needs of those affected by this alarming situation. The ongoing unrest in the Middle East has not only posed risks to those present in the region but has also created significant concerns for their families and institutions back in India, signaling the far-reaching implications of international conflicts on local communities.
