VIDEO: Businessman drifts for hours after saving friends from drowning during jet ski outing in Northern ES

A businessman had to be rescued after drifting at sea for three hours while trying to save his friends from drowning during a jet ski trip in Northern Espírito Santo, Brazil.

On Saturday, a 46-year-old businessman named André Ferri found himself drifting at sea for three hours after attempting to rescue friends who fell from their jet ski during a trip off the coast of Vila de Regência in Linhares, Espírito Santo. Ferri and his group of 12 friends embarked on a familiar route but encountered unexpectedly rough seas as they ventured into the ocean from the Rio Doce. With the waves more turbulent than anticipated, they soon realized the dangers ahead.

When two friends fell overboard, one of them began to struggle in the water despite wearing a life jacket, prompting Ferri to leap into action. He attempted to aid his friend, but in the process, the jet ski was swept away by the strong currents, leaving him adrift. The situation turned critical as he remained in the ocean, unable to return to shore on his own, requiring urgent assistance from rescue teams.

Rescue operations were launched by the Núcleo de Operações e Transporte Aéreo da Secretaria da Casa Militar (Notaer), which dispatched a helicopter to locate Ferri, ultimately finding him three kilometers from the coastline. The incident highlights the inherent risks associated with water sports and the importance of safety precautions, particularly in unpredictable marine conditions.
