Ecuador awakens interest from the 'Survivor' franchise to become the competition's host

The franchise 'Survivor' is considering Ecuador as a potential location for its next season, following an exploratory visit by entertainment company Banijay.

The reality show 'Survivor', known for its challenges of isolation and survival, may be coming to Ecuador. Participants in the show are typically dropped in remote locations where they must fend for themselves and build camaraderie while facing various competitive challenges. Following exploration of potential sites for a new season, Ecuador has emerged as a strong contender due to its diverse landscapes and natural beauty.

Banijay Entertainment, the owner of the franchise, conducted a scouting trip to Ecuador, facilitated by Spanish production company Cuarzo Producciones, alongside local production house Ecuastudios. This exploration included a detailed assessment of several regions, with key locations identified in Esmeraldas, Manabí, and the Oriente region, showcasing Ecuador's ability to provide a captivating backdrop for the show.

According to Ana Cecilia Alvarado, the director of Ecuastudios, their exploration focused on Island Jupiter in Esmeraldas as a standout location suitable for the program's requirements. These developments could significantly enhance Ecuador's presence in the international entertainment scene, attracting tourism and economic benefits if the show comes to fruition.
