Most Finns Make a Mistake in Brewing Coffee That Affects the Taste Negatively

A recent survey indicates that the majority of Finns unknowingly make a mistake when brewing coffee, which adversely affects its flavor.

A survey conducted by Ilta-Sanomat revealed that many Finns may be negatively impacting the taste of their coffee due to improper brewing practices. The survey, which gathered nearly 26,000 responses, asked participants about their habits in coffee making. Results showed that approximately 69% of respondents simply turn off the coffee maker, rinse the pot briefly, and set it back in place. In contrast, only 19% take the time to thoroughly wash the pot before storing it, while the remaining 12% leave the pot without rinsing it for the next use.

Coffee expert Roosa Jalonen emphasized that the key to great tasting coffee lies in the cleanliness of the brewing tools, along with the type of coffee used and the brewing style. Though washing the pot after every use might seem excessive, it is essential for ensuring a pleasant coffee experience.
