Inmet renews warnings for heavy rains and almost all cities are under warning in Paraíba
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has renewed severe weather alerts for heavy rains across all cities in Paraíba, Brazil, as risks of flooding and landslides increase.
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued renewed warnings for heavy rains affecting every municipality in Paraíba. Two renewed alerts, categorized as yellow and orange, indicate significant weather threats, effective until the end of Sunday, October 1st. The warnings serve as precautionary measures to prepare the public for the forthcoming weather challenges.
In addition to the yellow and orange alerts, there is a critical red alert indicating a high danger of accumulated rainfall affecting 116 cities in the state. The red alert warns of potential rainfall exceeding 60 mm/h or more than 100 mm daily, emphasizing the risks of significant flooding, river overflow, and landslides in vulnerable areas.
The Inmet highlights the importance of being prepared and vigilant, particularly in regions susceptible to severe rainfall. The issuance of these alerts reflects the ongoing weather concerns and underscores the need for residents to remain aware of their local conditions, considering risks such as swift flooding and landslides during severe storms.
