Three individuals fell through the ice on Eibsee lake located in Grainau, within the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but thankfully were rescued by the water rescue team. The police reported that the incident occurred when these individuals ventured too close to the edge of the ice, leading to their precarious situation. A rescue operation was launched, utilizing an air-cushion vehicle to reach them, with additional support from a helicopter, numerous rescue personnel, and the police.

Authorities are warning that the ongoing warm temperatures and uneven melting of ice create a high risk of falling through. It has been advised that entering the remaining ice surfaces on the lake can be potentially life-threatening. The police strongly recommend against entering the lake, emphasizing the danger that these melting ice conditions pose to public safety.
