HOK-Elanto made a decision that benefits vegetarians

HOK-Elanto has announced a price reduction for vegetarian meals in its restaurants to encourage more customers to try plant-based options.

HOK-Elanto has recently declared a significant decision that makes vegetarian food cheaper across all its restaurants, a move aimed at increasing the appeal of plant-based meals. The cooperative's goal is to entice more individuals to explore vegetarian alternatives, which seems to be gaining traction; in some locations, the demand for vegetarian dishes has already surged dramatically, even becoming several times greater within a short span.

Satu Rytkönen, the director of HOK-Elanto's restaurants, emphasized their commitment to making plant-based options both appealing and accessible, ensuring that selecting vegetarian dishes becomes a natural part of the dining experience for customers. As part of this initiative, HOK-Elanto aims to have 65% of all food sold in its stores and restaurants to be plant-based by the end of 2030, reflecting a broader trend towards sustainability and health-conscious eating habits.

The newly implemented discount on vegetarian meals is set at 15%, provided that customers are members of the cooperative, and is applicable to à la carte dishes. This strategic decision not only promotes a healthier lifestyle but also aligns with global movements advocating for reduced meat consumption and increased awareness about the environmental impacts of dietary choices.
