Osvaldo Manuel Barreto, a musician diagnosed with colon cancer, emotionally thanked the medical team at Hospital Universitário de Maringá (HU) with a special performance before his discharge after 45 days of hospitalization. Osvaldo had been hospitalized since January 11, and during his time in palliative care, the staff learned of his love for music, which led to the idea of organizing a personalized concert for him to express gratitude.

The concert was scheduled for Friday, but Osvaldo received the good news that he could go home a day earlier. Despite feeling homesick, he chose to remain in the hospital to honor his commitment to perform for the healthcare professionals who had provided him care and support during his difficult journey.
