A 69-year-old man is in intensive care after consuming a highly toxic and hallucinogenic fruit with his family in Brazil, leading to severe health complications.

Oséias de Souza Lima, a 69-year-old man from Acre, Brazil, is currently intubated in the Intensive Care Unit after he, his wife, and their 13-year-old son ingested a dangerous fruit known as trombeta roxa (Datura metel), recognized for its toxic and hallucinogenic properties. This incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, the 26th, in the neighborhood of Belo Jardim II in Rio Branco, where all three family members began experiencing acute symptoms shortly after consuming the fruit. Emergency services were quick to respond, transporting them to the hospital where Oséias was admitted to the ICU for severe intoxication.
