A musical about wild animals that end up in the city is performed in Pärnu

A musical called 'City Animal' featuring nearly a hundred young performers from various Pärnu schools will be staged at the Endla Theatre, depicting wild animals that have wandered into the city.

In Pärnu, a unique musical titled 'Linnaloom' (City Animal) is set to be performed, focusing on wild animals that find themselves living in the area. Nearly a hundred young participants from Pärnu Arts School, Laine Mägi Dance School, and the vocational education center have been rehearsing intensively for the performances. The production is directed by Laine Mägi, with music composed by Mirjam Kits and lyrics written by Aapo Ilves, while the script was crafted by Ott Kilusk.

The concept of the musical originated from Ott Kilusk, who tailored the narrative to reflect the experiences of lost animals in Pärnu city. As shared by Margrit Kits, who leads both the soloists and choirs, the characters in the story, derived from these animals, interestingly mirror certain aspects of human nature. This connection between humans and the animal characters illustrates the creativity involved in the storytelling and performance.

The performances of 'Linnaloom' are scheduled for March 2 and 3 at the Endla Theatre, promising an engaging experience for the audience. The initiative represents a collaborative effort among local educational institutions, showcasing the talents of the youth in Pärnu while also addressing themes of nature, urbanization, and coexistence of different species within the same environment.
