The police reported that a man and his minor son were involved in the incident, with the father arrested and the son taken into custody. The boy, identified as Reyansh Soni, sustained a gunshot wound to the head during the festivities, which took place on February 19, the day before the father's daughter's wedding.

According to the police, they recovered a licensed pistol, a magazine, a live cartridge, and two empty casings from the accused. The man and his son, both residents of Kotwali Nagar, were directly involved in the shooting, which occurred when the minor allegedly fired the weapon, leading to the unintended injury of Reyansh, the son of Himanshu Verma.
