In a tragic incident during a wedding reception in Saharanpur, India, 50-year-old Shivcharan was killed due to celebratory gunfire. The shooting occurred on the night of February 19-20 at the Ramleela Bhavan, where the accused, Rohit Kumar, allegedly fired the weapon. Following a complaint filed by the victim's son, Harshit Rohila, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, the local police intensified their search for the suspect. On February 20, acting on a tip-off, police officials apprehended Rohit Kumar near the Baba Lal Das Temple Gate. Authorities recovered a licensed .32 bore pistol and two live cartridges from the suspect, which prompted them to add sections of the Arms Act to the case.
