The bidirectional Tramlink that was involved in yesterday's accident on Viale Vittorio Veneto is a state-of-the-art vehicle in the public transport landscape. In service for about a year, it is equipped with advanced technology, is fully accessible, and features an innovative video surveillance system to improve passenger comfort. Measuring 25 meters long, it comprises three interconnected carriages with 66 seats, internal cameras linked to Atm's Security central, real-time mobility information systems, screens indicating stops and routes, and USB charging ports for smartphones.

The Tramlink first entered service on October 7 on the Cascina Gobba line. Currently, these new Tramlink vehicles are operating on lines 7, 31, and 9. In total, 74 new units are set to progressively replace the older vehicles over the next two years, with the exception of 125 Carrelli vehicles, aiming to modernize and improve the accessibility of the entire fleet. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance public transportation infrastructure and safety in the region, prioritizing user experience as well as efficiency in urban mobility.

The introduction of the Tramlink signifies a notable step toward sustainable urban transport solutions, utilizing advanced technology to provide safer and more comfortable commuting experiences. The investment in such modern vehicles not only reflects the commitment to environmental sustainability but also serves to address the growing demands for public transit in bustling urban areas, making it a significant development for both local communities and city planning efforts.
