A free exhibition celebrates eight years of the Army's Operation Welcome in Roraima, which assists Venezuelan migrants and refugees.
A free exhibition titled "Operation Welcome β 8 Years of Integration and Cooperation" commemorates the eight-year anniversary of the Brazilian Army's Operation Welcome, which has been providing support to Venezuelan migrants and refugees at the Roraima border since 2018. The exhibition is being held at a shopping center in the northern zone of Boa Vista, allowing the community to learn more about the efforts aimed at assisting those displaced by the crisis in Venezuela.
Operation Welcome was initiated by the federal government in partnership with international organizations to facilitate the reception, settlement, and interiorization of Venezuelan migrants in Brazil. Since its inception, over 158,000 interiorizations have been conducted to more than a thousand cities across the country, highlighting the significant scale of the operation amidst the ongoing Venezuelan crisis. Additionally, itβs reported that in 2025 alone, over 80,000 individuals had their immigration status formalized in Brazil.
This exhibition not only serves as a milestone for the Operation Welcome initiative but also aims to raise awareness and understanding among the Brazilian public regarding the challenges faced by Venezuelan refugees and the importance of humanitarian assistance. By showcasing the successes and ongoing efforts of the operation, the event invites community engagement and fosters a spirit of cooperation and solidarity with the migrants.
