ESS: Taxi drove on a skiing trail – The driver didn’t heed angry skiers

A taxi drove on a skiing trail in Lahti, Finland, causing confusion and anger among skiers who confronted the driver.

On Saturday, February 21, skiers at the Tapanila ski lodge in Lahti were surprised when a taxi drove directly towards them on the ski trail. Eyewitnesses reported that skiers attempted to stop the driver, who ignored their concerns and continued to pick up a customer. This led to an apparent confrontation, as the driver refused to acknowledge the inappropriate use of the skiing area. After being informed by a third skier that vehicles were not allowed on the trail, the driver closed the window and left after a brief delay while driving uphill back to the road leading to the lodge. Fortunately, no skier collided with the taxi, as recounted by a bystander, Petri Jaakkola.
