Airbus launches $15 million helicopter in partnership with Mercedes-Benz

Airbus has launched a new version of its traditional ACH145 helicopter in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, inspired by the luxury SUV AMG G Class.

Airbus announced the launch of a new version of its ACH145 helicopter on Thursday, October 26, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz. This model is particularly notable as it draws design inspiration from the high-end AMG G Class SUV by the German car manufacturer, and the first owner in the world will be a Brazilian entrepreneur. Priced at approximately $15 million, the helicopter's cost can fluctuate based on the internal configuration and technology options chosen by the buyer.

The partnership between Airbus and Mercedes-Benz dates back to 2010, during which they have delivered 26 units of the ACH145, featuring Mercedesโ€™ design touches. The new version, inspired by the luxurious G Class, utilizes a design philosophy termed "sensual purity," characterized by smoother contours similar to those found in modern luxury SUVs. This aligns with current trends in high-end automotive design, appealing to affluent customers seeking both functionality and aesthetic appeal in their private aircraft.

Additionally, the ACH145 helicopter will offer customizable internal layouts ranging from four to eight seats, along with six unique design concepts for personalizing the interior. Customers will have the options to choose from various color schemes, stitching for seats, and enhancements to the cabin's interior, which reflects a growing trend of customization in the luxury aircraft market. This launch not only emphasizes Airbus's commitment to innovation but also marks a significant development in the elite aviation sector, catering to wealthier clientele seeking exclusive and tailored aviation solutions.
