The Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Satyajit Gupta, confirmed that an emergency call was received at the 112 control room around 7 PM, warning about the threat to the railway station. In response, a high-security action was initiated, involving senior police and administrative officers, heavy police presence, bomb disposal squads, and anti-sabotage check teams along with dog squads to ensure safety.

During the search operation, all areas of the station including platforms, circulating areas, waiting halls, parcel offices, and parking zones were thoroughly inspected. Police teams left no stone unturned in their checks to ensure that no suspicious items were left unchecked, especially as the safety of passengers was the top priority. Despite the extensive search efforts, no dangerous items or threats were identified, which alleviated some of the panic among the commuters.
