Piracicaba inaugurates Epilepsy Outpatient Clinic to serve the public health system

Piracicaba has inaugurated an outpatient clinic dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy as part of its public health services.

In a significant step towards improving healthcare services, Piracicaba, São Paulo, inaugurated an Epilepsy Outpatient Clinic on Saturday, aimed at providing specialized care for individuals with epilepsy. The clinic is located at the Anhembi Morumbi University and will facilitate consultations with trained professionals who can enhance diagnosis and provide continuous support for patients and their families regarding this neurological condition.

This new facility will be integrated into the public health network of Piracicaba, with access primarily through referrals from the municipal healthcare units, particularly from Primary Health Care services. These units will assess patients and direct them to the outpatient clinic for specialized evaluation, ensuring that those suffering from epilepsy receive the necessary medical attention.

The establishment of this clinic is the result of a collaboration among the City Hall of Piracicaba, the Brazilian Association of Epilepsy, and Anhembi Morumbi University. This partnership underscores the commitment to advancing healthcare services in the region and highlights the importance of specialized resources to manage and support patients with epilepsy effectively.
