Saint Panteleimon: Pursuit of a drug trafficker's vehicle
A 28-year-old Greek man was arrested after a pursuit by police in the Saint Panteleimon area for possession of various drugs.
On Wednesday night in the Saint Panteleimon area of Greece, a 28-year-old Greek citizen was apprehended following a police pursuit. Officers from the DIAS group noticed a vehicle displaying suspicious behavior during their patrol and attempted to pull it over for inspection. Upon seeing the police, the driver discarded a bag out of the window and accelerated in a bid to escape, despite the audible commands from law enforcement for him to stop.
The pursuit led to the driver violating traffic rules as he maneuvered through three streets and ultimately collided with three parked cars. After the vehicle was brought to a stop, the driver was taken into custody and sent to the Investigation and Crime Detection Department of Saint Panteleimon, where preliminary investigations commenced.
Upon searching the driver and the vehicle, police discovered and seized a significant amount of drugs, including 500 ecstasy pills, 40 LSD-infused papers, 16.8 grams of cocaine, 31 MDMA pills, and 11 grams of raw cannabis. Additionally, the authorities found €5,690 in cash and a knife, indicating a serious involvement in drug trafficking activities.
