Sofia Goggia made a strong comeback in the World Cup downhill race at Soldeu, Andorra, clinching a commendable third place with a time of 1:31.86. In her post-race interview, Goggia expressed satisfaction with her performance despite facing challenges on the flatter sections of the course. She acknowledged that while she struggled at times, she managed to contain the situation and recover significantly, though not enough to achieve a higher placement. Goggia's optimistic outlook highlights her confidence as she looks forward to the upcoming super-G races scheduled for the following days.

Other Italian competitors also took part in the event, with Laura Pirovano finishing in eighth place. However, the performance of other Italian athletes such as Nicol Delago (16th), Elena Curtoni (18th), Nadia Delago (23rd), and Sara Thaler (34th) showcased the competitive nature of the field. Goggia's efforts reinforce her status as a leading figure in women's skiing, particularly on the World Cup circuit.
