Four houses are interdicted after inspection in a risk area in Rio Pardo de Minas

Four houses in Rio Pardo de Minas were interdicted due to risks identified during an inspection by local authorities.

In Rio Pardo de Minas, four houses located in a risk area were interdicted following an inspection carried out by the Municipal Brigade and the Civil Defense. The inspection, conducted on Thursday, revealed signs of soil movement and structural damage in one of the residences. Out of the four, three houses were inhabited, while one was unoccupied.

As a precautionary measure for safety, families residing in the affected houses were evacuated from their homes. Two families were displaced and found shelter with relatives, while a third family became homeless and was directed to a municipal shelter. The swift evacuation was supported by the local Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS), which was called in to assist with the accommodation and welfare of the affected families.

The risk area has been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the residents, and will remain under surveillance by the Municipal Brigade until definitive interventions are carried out by municipal authorities. This case reflects the ongoing challenges that local governments face in dealing with housing in areas prone to natural hazards, highlighting the need for continued monitoring and preventive measures to safeguard communities.
