Hellenic Open University: ESF funding for modernization of quality and service development
The Hellenic Open University has received €520,000 in funding to enhance its quality assurance and service development capabilities, as part of a broader initiative involving 20 universities in Greece.
The Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finance has allocated €520,000 to the Hellenic Open University under the initiative 'Quality Assurance Services, Strategic Development, Teaching and Learning Support for the Academic Community and Digital Governance Unit'. This funding comes from the ESF program titled 'Human Resources and Social Cohesion 2021-2027', with a total budget of €24,960,000 shared among participating universities. The program aims to strengthen the academic community in Greece by enhancing service quality and digital governance.
With the inclusion of the Hellenic Open University, the total number of Greek universities participating in this initiative has now reached 20, while evaluations for an additional five are currently underway. The initiative focuses on several key actions, such as updating strategic and operational plans for each university based on performance indicators and ongoing assessments. It aims to improve both the effectiveness and the quality of educational services through comprehensive self-assessment processes and the development of well-documented reports.
This funding endeavor represents a significant investment in higher education in Greece, promoting the modernization of universities to meet contemporary educational challenges. By facilitating quality assurance processes and strategic planning, the initiative seeks to bolster the universities' capabilities in terms of human resources and digital governance, ultimately benefiting the academic community and the broader society.
