A 70-year-old man was brutally attacked and robbed by three criminals in Brazil, resulting in a broken arm.
In Brazil, a 70-year-old elderly man sustained a broken arm after being attacked by three criminals during a robbery in Brasilândia de Minas. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when the suspects assaulted the victim for approximately 15 minutes using wooden sticks, while two of them entered a nearby association, stealing tools, a cell phone, a sandwich maker, and R$ 130 in cash. This brutal robbery highlights the increasing violence faced by the elderly in the community.
According to the Military Police, the elderly man was taken to live at the 'Lar Mãe Maria' association due to previous thefts in his living situation. The facility aimed to provide a safer environment for him, especially as he did not have a permanent home. The local community expressed outrage at the violent methods used by the assailants, emphasizing the dire need for enhanced security measures in the area.
The elderly victim is currently receiving medical attention, with his injury assessed by an orthopedic doctor. Local authorities have discussed the possibility of installing concertina wire to improve security, however, financial constraints are hampering these protective measures. This incident not only raises concerns about the safety of vulnerable individuals like the elderly but also highlights broader social issues regarding crime and protection in Brazil.
