Road projects: The final stretch for tenders for Thessaloniki–Edessa and Drama–Amfipoli

Greece is moving forward with the final stages of awarding two major road projects estimated at around €700 million through a Public-Private Partnership.

In Greece, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is progressing with the final stages of awarding two significant road projects valued at approximately €700 million, including VAT. These projects consist of upgrading the EO2 road axis from Mavrovouni to Edessa, along with the bypasses for Giannitsa and Chalkidona, and the vertical axis from Drama to Amfipoli (Palaeokomi). Major construction firms such as GEK Terna, Avax, and the consortium of Aktor Concessions and Metlen have submitted bids for these long-term contracts, which will last for 30 years, with the first three years dedicated to construction.
