Hillary: 'I have no memory of meeting Epstein... Trump must testify'
Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton denied any knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's crimes during her closed testimony, calling for President Trump to also provide sworn testimony.
Hillary Clinton, the former U.S. Secretary of State, stated during a closed congressional testimony on the 26th that she has no recollection of any involvement with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, emphasizing her lack of knowledge about his crimes. Clinton noted that she spent approximately six hours testifying, repeatedly declaring her unfamiliarity with Epstein while stressing that she never flew on his plane or visited any of his properties. Additionally, she made a point to clarify her relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell, whom she characterized as only a casual acquaintance. Clinton suggested that her summons to testify was an effort to divert attention from the actions of President Trump, who she mentioned appears numerous times in Epstein’s files, advocating for Trump to also be called to testify under oath.
In a dramatic political moment, former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to appear before the same congressional committee on the 27th, marking the first time a former president is compelled to testify in Congress. Democratic lawmakers are demanding that since a former president is testifying, current President Trump should be called to answer allegations related to Epstein too. James Comer, the Republican committee chair, pushed back by stating that Trump has already answered numerous questions from the media regarding this matter.
The controversy extends to allegations surrounding the Department of Justice’s decision to withhold certain documents pertaining to President Trump. Representative Garcia claimed that the Epstein files released by the DOJ exclude essential records that reflect serious allegations against Trump, specifically citing missing interview notes from an FBI investigation conducted in 2019 regarding a female victim. This situation highlights ongoing tensions and the complex intersection of high-profile political figures with serious criminal allegations, raising questions about accountability and transparency within the governmental process.
