Teenagers apprehended suspected of homicide in BA; victim was one of their fathers
Two teenagers have been apprehended in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, suspected of homicide and concealment of a corpse, with the victim being the father of one of the suspects.
In the city of Vitória da Conquista, located in the southwest region of Bahia, Brazil, two teenagers were apprehended by the Civil Police for their alleged involvement in the homicide of Ubirandy Souza de Andrade, who is also the father of one of the suspects. The apprehension took place on Thursday, February 26, and is part of an ongoing investigation into the murder that occurred on February 16 in Limeira, a rural area of the municipality.
According to police reports, one of the apprehended teenagers allegedly struck his father with an ax while he slept. The other teenager is accused of assisting in the concealment of the victim's body, which was subsequently found abandoned in a rural area of Itambé, not far from Vitória da Conquista. Moreover, authorities are in search of a third individual, another teenager believed to have participated in the crime, showcasing a shocking familial tragedy.
The incident raises serious concerns about youth violence in the region, and the police have stated that search and seizure warrants were issued by the Child and Youth Court in the district of Vitória da Conquista.
