Seven hospitals in Brazil have been recognized among the best globally in the World’s Best Hospitals 2026 ranking, which evaluates 250 institutions across 32 countries. This ranking, published on June 25, highlights Brazil's healthcare capabilities, particularly in São Paulo where six of the recognized hospitals are located. The listed hospitals include prominent names such as the Einstein Hospital Israelita, which ranks 16th, and the Hospital Sírio-Libanês at 79th, showcasing a high standard of medical care and excellence in healthcare services.
The ranking itself is based on thorough research and analysis of data from 2,500 hospitals in 2025, focusing on various metrics such as population size, life expectancy, living standards, hospital density, and the availability of data for comparative purposes. Alongside São Paulo's leading hospitals, the Hospital Moinhos de Vento from Porto Alegre also makes the list, ranked at 111th, further emphasizing the quality of medical institutions across Brazil.
This recognition not only reflects the quality and innovation present within Brazilian healthcare but also underscores the importance of continued investment in medical infrastructure and education to maintain and improve these standings. As the global healthcare landscape evolves, the acknowledgment of Brazilian hospitals as leaders in medical care helps to promote the country's healthcare sector internationally and can encourage further advancements and collaboration in the medical community.
