Lafarge Africa's dividend surges fivefold to N96.6bn
Lafarge Africa Plc has significantly increased its proposed dividend payout to shareholders for the 2025 financial year, marking a fivefold rise compared to the previous year.
Lafarge Africa Plc is set to propose a remarkable increase in its dividend payout for the financial year 2025, recommending a gross dividend of 600 kobo per ordinary share. This marks a significant jump from the 120 kobo that was paid out in 2024, indicating a fivefold increase. According to their annual regulations filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited, the total dividend payout is estimated to reach approximately N96.65 billion, compared to N19.33 billion the previous year.
This substantial increase in dividends is attributed to the company's impressive performance in terms of net sales, which saw a 53% growth to N1.07 trillion from N696.76 billion. Factors contributing to this growth include enhanced plant stability, volume growth, and better distribution strategies, which have collectively strengthened the companyβs financial position. The dividends will be distributed to those shareholders who have their names registered in the Register of Members by the cutoff date of April 3, 2026.
The proposition of this dividend hike is subject to approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 30, 2026. If approved, this move will not only benefit shareholders significantly but also indicates a healthy outlook for Lafarge Africa's business operations, which could inspire confidence among investors and stakeholders regarding its growth trajectory going forward.
