Hugo David Castillo, a 47-year-old man, was arrested this Wednesday in the La Cava neighborhood, suspected of being the mastermind behind 'La Banda del Millón', a criminal organization allegedly run from prison by two of his sons and a young accomplice. Castillo has a history of criminal activity, having spent over seven years in prison across three different periods from 2011 to 2020, when he was released during the COVID-19 pandemic. His convictions include aggravated robberies, concealment, and disobedience, with the last sentence handed down by the San Isidro Criminal Court, which also notably handled the contentious trial regarding the death of Diego Maradona.
