The Festa Literária Internacional do Pelourinho (Flipelô) has announced that the 2026 edition will honor the influential Bahian poet Myriam Fraga, who passed away in 2016. This festival, set to take place from August 5 to 9 in the historic center of Salvador, marks the 10th anniversary of the event, recognized as the largest literary celebration in Bahia. Fraga, a key figure in promoting Bahian literature, founded the festival after being inspired by the Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty in 2006, where she was introduced to the concept of a literary fair.
