Government delivers machinery and supplies worth $800,000 for producers in Los Ríos
Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa delivered over $800,000 in agricultural support to farmers in Los Ríos to enhance agricultural production and food security.
On Thursday, President Daniel Noboa of Ecuador continued his agenda in Los Ríos, focusing on strengthening agricultural production and supporting local farming families. During this event, he oversaw the delivery of agricultural benefits and supplies exceeding $800,000, aimed at empowering farmers in the region. The ceremony took place at the Tropical Experimental Station Pichilingue (Iniap) along the Quevedo-El Empalme route. Noboa highlighted that supporting the provincial agricultural sector not only sustains family economies but also contributes to the country’s food security.
Noboa emphasized the importance of providing farmers with adequate tools to allow Ecuador to establish itself as a leading food producer. To this end, the government provided eight tractors under the Agricultural Mechanization Solutions Program (SOMA) and 1,000 agricultural technology packages. This initiative aims to improve crop yields, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall productivity in prioritized farming sectors. The support is crucial for ensuring that local agricultural practices meet national demands and can potentially position Ecuador as a significant player in food production.
The commitment from the Ecuadorian government is indicative of ongoing efforts to revitalize the agricultural sector, which has faced various challenges in recent years. By investing in mechanization and technological advancements, the government aims to not only fortify local economies but also address broader issues of food security within the country. Such initiatives represent a pivotal move towards sustainable agricultural development in Ecuador, further enabling farmers to thrive in an increasingly competitive market.
