The Church of Conceição in Oeiras, Piauí, was broken into and two sound boxes were stolen, but police recovered them soon after and are investigating the suspect.
The Church of Conceição, located in the center of Oeiras, Piauí, was broken into on Wednesday (25), leading to the theft of two sound boxes. Shortly after the incident, the Civil Police managed to recover the stolen items from a suspect identified by the initials A.F.C.O., who has since been taken to the police station for questioning.
The crime of receiving stolen goods, as outlined in Article 180 of the Brazilian Penal Code, occurs when an individual knowingly acquires, receives, transports, or conceals items that are products of a crime. Additionally, the law includes scenarios where one may influence another person to engage in such actions, regardless of that person's good faith.
Delegado Guilherme Tavares Escobar commented that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts aimed at identifying and locating other individuals responsible for the burglary. The swift recovery of the equipment illustrates the police's proactive approach in addressing such crimes, though the search for those behind the initial theft continues as part of broader law enforcement efforts in the region.
