They will invest US$ 100 million to modernize the Ezeiza runway: from where flights to Europe and the USA will depart.
The Ezeiza International Airport will undergo a significant modernization with a US$ 100 million investment, impacting flights to Europe and the USA for 15 days in October.
Ezeiza International Airport in Argentina will see a major modernization project that includes a US$ 100 million investment in its runway. During this renovation period, which will take place over 15 days in October, flights to Europe and the United States will be diverted to other airports, challenging airlines to adjust their schedules and flight plans.
The central runway's operational length will be reduced from 3,300 meters to 1,850 meters, which primarily affects larger aircraft that require longer takeoffs and landings. The renovation plan signifies a substantial commitment from Aeropuertos Argentina, the company in charge of managing the airport, aiming to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency in the long term.
SebastiΓ‘n Villar Guarino, the general manager of Ezeiza, mentioned that they are already in discussions with airlines to coordinate this transition. The flights will be rerouted to regional airports, while international airlines may consider postponing their expansions until the renovations are completed, allowing for a smoother transition amid the changes.
