Piauí Institute of Technology begins the academic year for higher AI courses in Teresina
The Piauí Institute of Technology has commenced the academic year for higher education courses in Artificial Intelligence, offering 120 spots across four classes in Teresina.
On October 26, the Piauí Institute of Technology (PIT) kicked off its academic year 2026.1 at its newly established unit located at the Engineer Sampaio Technology School in central-southern Teresina. This inauguration included official ceremonies that took place at 8 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m., featuring institutional presentations on academic programs, extension opportunities, teaching structure for the higher education courses in Artificial Intelligence, and various related initiatives such as the Piauí Opportunities platform, Tech Park, and Piauí Startup.
This semester, the institute has made available a total of 120 spots distributed across four classes, which reflects the institution's commitment to expanding its educational offerings in response to the growing demand for technological training in the state. Specifically, three classes are dedicated to the Associate Degree in Technology in Artificial Intelligence, alongside one class for the Bachelor's Degree in Artificial Intelligence. The initiative aims to equip students with essential skills and knowledge in the fast-evolving field of technology.
In addition to the opening ceremonies, students will engage in various introductory activities that will enhance their academic experience. The launch of these courses is significant for Piauí, as it signals progress toward meeting the local interest in artificial intelligence and positions the institute as a key player in fostering technological knowledge and innovation within the region.
