An officer from the prison service in Šiauliai was reported to have arrived at work while intoxicated on February 24, according to statements made by Renata Maldūnienė, a representative of the prison service. During a routine check, it was found that the officer had a slight level of alcohol in his system, prompting immediate disciplinary action.

Following the discovery, the officer was promptly suspended from his duties.
