FCC seeks UAE firm’s support to improve service delivery
The Federal Character Commission of Nigeria is engaging with a UAE firm to enhance its digital services and improve governance.
The Federal Character Commission (FCC) in Nigeria has initiated discussions with an investment delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by Mr. Michael Gale of Al Liwan Group Limited. This meeting, held in Abuja, aims to explore collaborative opportunities that would facilitate a technological upgrade of the FCC's digital systems. The focus is on enhancing service delivery, efficiency, and transparency within the public service sector, which is crucial for effective governance in Nigeria.
Executive Chairman Motunrayo Omidiran emphasized the significance of technology in governance, noting that bolstering the FCC's digital infrastructure is necessary for better monitoring of compliance with the Federal Character principle. This principle ensures equitable distribution of government positions across various regions and ethnic groups in Nigeria. Enhanced digital systems are expected to streamline processes, improve accountability, and foster a more transparent governance model.
By partnering with an international firm like Al Liwan Group, the FCC aims to leverage best practices and innovative solutions to address its operational challenges. Such collaborations could play a pivotal role in modernizing public services in Nigeria, ultimately leading to improved citizen engagement and satisfaction with government functions.
