Another Café Closes: "I Can't Imagine How Entrepreneurs Survive in This City"
A café in Klaipėda, run by UAB "Ponas Cinamonas," has decided to close due to personal circumstances and ongoing challenges in the local business environment.
In Klaipėda, the café 'Cinnamon', managed by UAB 'Ponas Cinamonas', has announced its closure, with Karolis Lomsargis, the manager, citing personal reasons but also acknowledging that these are not the sole factors. The café will temporarily suspend its operations, with Lomsargis indicating a likelihood that it may not reopen in Klaipėda due to difficulties in finding staff and a low influx of customers.
Lomsargis expressed the substantial costs associated with maintaining a café and ensuring fresh produce for customers, which have become increasingly burdensome. As competition grows and with the added challenges of customer retention, he warned that the local business landscape is increasingly unsustainable. He reflected on the evolving situation in Klaipėda, noting that many businesses are closing, potentially leading to a dead city if the trend continues.
Last November, 'Cinnamon' publicly declared on Facebook that they were seeking new owners, indicating a long-standing struggle in the local café market. Lomsargis's comments highlight pressing concerns about the viability of running a business in Klaipėda, suggesting an alarming trend that could affect the city's economic health significantly.
