Sanremo Viewership: Second Night Sees 9 Million with 59.5% Share. Fewer Spectators, Improved Share

The second night of the Sanremo Festival attracted 9 million viewers with a share of 59.5%, marking a slight drop in audience numbers compared to last year but an improvement in share percentage.

The Sanremo Festival's second evening garnered 9 million and 53 thousand viewers, achieving a 59.5% market share. This represents a 1.5-point increase in share compared to the debut night, even though the overall number of viewers declined. The festival’s first night had already shown a drop of 3 million viewers, with 9.6 million tuning in, yielding a 58% share, impacted by the overall entertainment landscape in 2025 compared to previous years.

On Wednesday, February 25th, the second night featured 15 of the 30 competing big names, including a memorable duet between Achille Lauro and Laura Pausini, alongside tributes to victims of the Crans-Montana fire. Co-hosted by Pilar Fogliati and Lillo, the event also honored Fausto Leali with a career award and included a tribute to Ornella Vanoni by her granddaughter. Despite the star-studded line-up, viewership fell short by 2.7 million compared to the same evening the previous year, indicating a notable dip in audience engagement.

The decline signifies a trend that the festival organizers may need to address, particularly as factors contributing to viewer attrition are scrutinized. Although the share has improved, the significant drop in numbers compared to last year poses challenges for the festival's longevity and popularity in subsequent editions. Attention from media analysts and the industry will be directed towards how future evenings can recapture audience interest without sacrificing quality or engagement.
