He expressed frustration over their refusal to engage in a discussion about the claims they have propagated, suggesting that their avoidance of debate is indicative of their undermining of serious political discourse and accountability.

Lee described the spread of these conspiracy theories as a "chronic malignant debt" for the conservative camp, underscoring how the rumors were started by significant political figures within their ranks. He lamented that those who incite fear and misinformation are now shying away from responsible discourse. The debate's scheduling was complicated, as an earlier arrangement for a live discussion on TV with Jeon was unexpectedly called off. However, the Reform Party confirmed that the debate will be broadcasted live on "Pen and Mic" on the afternoon of the 27th.

In urging Hwang and Min to participate, Lee framed their absence from the debate as akin to abandoning responsibility and accountability once they have set the narrative in motion. He posited that for individuals making a living through conspiracy theories, engaging in validation through a debate would signify their operational end.
