A barn roof collapsed in the village of Švaininkai, trapping several animals, but firefighters successfully rescued them.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD), the structure gave way, trapping a total of 19 animals including 4 cows, 2 heifers, and 13 calves inside the building. Emergency services were quickly alerted to the situation, which prompted an immediate response from firefighters.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters promptly engaged in the dismantling of the collapsed roof structure. Their efforts were focused on ensuring the safe extraction of the trapped livestock. They managed to free all 19 animals without any reported injuries, further indicating the effectiveness of the emergency response. Following their rescue, the animals were safely transported to another farm building to ensure their well-being.
