Delivery of new LPG carrier by Erasmus Shipinvest

Erasmus Shipinvest Group has taken delivery of the new LPG carrier "Gas Long," which has a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters and is part of a long-term contract with Equinor for transporting gas in the European market.

The Erasmus Shipinvest Group, a shipping company of Chinese interests based in Vouliagmeni, Greece, has successfully taken delivery of its new LPG carrier named "Gas Long." This vessel is the fourth in a series, with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters, constructed at the Shitanoe Zosen shipyard in Japan. The company, led by John Su, announced that "Gas Long" is registered under the Panamanian flag and has been classified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Immediately following its delivery, the "Gas Long" commenced operations under a multi-year contract with Norwegian energy company Equinor, focusing on transporting goods within the European market. The ship's launch was marked by a ceremony that included Heidi Aakre, Vice President and Head of Shipping at Equinor, who served as the vessel's sponsor. With the addition of this new ship, the LPG fleet of Erasmus Gas Carriers has now surpassed 20 vessels.

Erasmus Shipinvest Group's strategic objective is to maintain its position among the world’s largest owners of pressurized gas carriers, reflecting its commitment to growth and expansion within the maritime transport sector. This recent addition not only represents a significant investment in the fleet but also underscores the ongoing demand for gas transportation in Europe, driven by commitments to energy sustainability and quality service in maritime logistics.
