Poland has discovered secret underground tunnels on the border with Belarus

Poland's border guards have discovered four tunnels, suspected to be built by Middle Eastern specialists linked to Kurdish fighters, ISIS terrorists, or Iranian-supported groups, including one used by illegal migrants.

In 2025, Polish border guards uncovered four secret underground tunnels along the border with Belarus, suspected to have been constructed by specialists from the Middle East. These specialists are believed to include members associated with Kurdish fighters, terror groups like ISIS, or Iranian-supported factions. The discovery highlights ongoing security concerns with illegal migration and the involvement of potentially dangerous groups at the Poland-Belarus border.

One of the most significant tunnels was located near the village of Narevka in eastern Poland, discovered in mid-December. Reports indicate that this specific tunnel had been utilized by around 180 illegal migrants primarily from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Among them, 130 were apprehended by Polish authorities immediately after emerging from the tunnel, showcasing the persistent challenges that Poland faces with illegal border crossings amid increased geopolitical tensions in the region.

Polish authorities noted that the tunnel in question was approximately 1.5 meters high, with its entrance from the Belarusian side camouflaged within a forest. It measured about 50 meters in length on the Belarusian side and an additional 10 meters on the Polish side. Videos taken from these tunnels reveal a basement-like structure supported by concrete beams reinforced to prevent collapse, further indicating the level of sophistication involved in their construction, which is usually associated with known Middle Eastern groups capable of such engineering feats.
