More than 1200 special train trips will run until March 18... Many cities will get this facility for Holi
Indian Railways has announced the operation of 1,244 special train trips across the country until March 18 for the convenience of passengers during Holi.
In an effort to facilitate travelers during the Holi festival, Indian Railways has disclosed that it will operate 1,244 special train trips nationwide until March 18. This initiative aims at providing passengers with safe and comfortable travel options, thereby reducing overcrowding on regular trains. The additional services are strategically aimed at major cities and capitals, assisting travelers in securing confirmed seats during the festival when travel demand is notably high.
With the anticipated increased number of passengers during Holi, the Rail Ministry has stated that the special trains will help accommodate the festive rush and potentially alleviate the pressure on the regular train services. The arrangements, which can be scaled up to 1,500 trips if needed, underscore the importance of ensuring that travelers have access to efficient transportation during peak holiday periods.
Among the routes served by these special trains will be major connections from Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur to different destinations such as Danapur, Gorakhpur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Samastipur. Additional services will also operate from cities like Visakhapatnam and Puri to Shalimar and Patna, among others, enhancing connectivity during a time when many people travel to their hometowns to celebrate the festival of colors.
