That night, a dispute over 5 million, early morning incident... A new twist in the Lucknow murder case

A BBA student in Lucknow killed his father with a licensed rifle after a heated argument over family financial issues, leading to him dismembering the body to hide the evidence.

In a shocking incident in the Ashiana area of Lucknow, a BBA student, Akshat Pratap Singh, shot his father, Manvendra Singh, on the early morning of February 19 using a licensed rifle. The murder was a culmination of a domestic dispute that arose during a discussion about finances. Following the heated argument concerning 5 million rupees related to the renewal of a liquor license, a physical altercation ensued where Manvendra slapped Akshat, which incensed the son to the point of taking his father's life. To conceal the crime, Akshat dismembered the body and disposed of the remains across various locations in Nadarganj and Transport Nagar.

The murder is not seen solely as a result of academic pressure on the student but is attributed to deep-rooted financial conflicts within the family. On the day of the incident, Manvendra counted the 5 million rupees at home, intending it for a business transaction. The subsequent altercation and humiliation faced by Akshat led him to plot and execute the murder, an act that he initially tried to cover up by keeping the remains with him overnight. His sister Kriti, fearing loss of her brother, opted to stay silent about the crime initially, highlighting the emotional turmoil gripping the family.

The police were alerted and, guided by Akshat's confession, found the weapon and the dismembered body parts after he disposed of them. Currently, Akshat has been placed in judicial custody for 14 days as investigations continue into this disturbing family tragedy that underscores the potential lethal consequences of domestic disputes driven by financial pressures and familial expectations.
