Disability Rights Group Claims "Illegal Eviction and Violence"... Suing Seoul Transportation Corporation
The National Coalition for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (NCEDPD) has filed a lawsuit against Seoul Transportation Corporation and subway security personnel, alleging illegal eviction and physical violence during a protest.
The National Coalition for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (NCEDPD) has initiated legal action against representatives of the Seoul Transportation Corporation and subway guards, claiming they used physical violence, including illegal eviction and assault during a protest action. On April 26, the NCEDPD held a press conference near Hyehwa Station in Jongno-gu, Seoul, announcing their complaints of assault, injury, and property damage against these individuals. The group accused the subway security personnel of exerting brutal physical force, even though they do not possess judicial police authority or the right to enforce coercive measures, by kicking activists and dragging them from their wheelchairs. They are demanding an official apology from the Seoul Transportation Corporation and a cessation of eviction measures against protesters.
