The Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Rural de Petrolina has announced an extension for the withdrawal and payment of boletos related to the Garantia-Safra program, which supports farmers affected by significant crop losses due to adverse weather. Farmers who missed the previous payment deadline can now retrieve their boletos until Friday, and those already in possession of a boleto can request a new one with a revised due date. The program is vital for farmers experiencing losses of at least 50% of their crops due to either excessive rainfall or drought conditions.

In Petrolina, a total of 1,730 registered farmers will benefit from this program, receiving a single payment of R$ 1,200. The program aims to provide essential social support and financial assistance to smallholder farmers navigating the challenges presented by climatic extremes. By extending the deadline, local authorities aim to ensure that more farmers can access this aid, which is crucial for their financial sustainability and livelihood.

The payment can be made via various channels, including Caixa Econômica Federal branches, lottery houses, Caixa Aqui representatives, or through Caixa's digital apps.
