Soosik Rae leads the quarter-finals with a solid victory
Soosik Rae achieved a decisive victory in the quarter-finals of the women's Estonian volleyball championships against TBD Pharmatech/Kastre.
Soosik Rae, representing Rae Sports School/VIASTON, commenced their quarter-final series in the women's Estonian volleyball championships with a strong performance against TBD Pharmatech/Kastre. They claimed a convincing 3-0 victory in the opening match held at the Tuule Sports Hall, demonstrating their dominance and securing their lead in the series. The match showcased Rae's skill as they only allowed six points in the first set and fourteen in the second, wrapping up the match with a lopsided third set score of 25:11.
The victory was not only significant for the team but also reflected their strong season, where they finished first in the regular tournament and had previously bested TBD Pharmatech/Kastre in two regular-season matches, both with scores exceeding 3-0. In total, 14 different players took to the court for Rae, with 12 of them contributing to the team’s points, underscoring the depth and versatility of the squad.
Three players notably stood out in the match, with Silvia Pertens achieving a 44% efficiency rate in attacks, contributing nine points to the team's score. Liis-Marii Vilem matched her seasonal record by serving eight aces and adding another nine points, while Hannemai Hanimägi also played a crucial role in the team's success. This strong start in the quarter-finals bodes well for Rae as they aim for victory in the ongoing championship series.
