Nova Friburgo signs new urban cleaning concession contract
The municipality of Nova Friburgo has signed a new concession contract for urban cleaning services and waste management valued at R$ 1.6 billion and lasting 30 years.
The municipality of Nova Friburgo, Brazil, has officially signed a new concession contract for urban cleaning services, including household solid waste management and environmentally appropriate final disposal. Following a bidding process, Vital Engenharia Ambiental S.A. won the contract, which will be executed by a newly created special purpose entity, SPE EBMA Gestão de Resíduos S.A., specifically organized for this purpose. This contract, valued at R$ 1,601,666,772.44, spans 30 years, as stated in the official notification published in the Diário Oficial.
This new agreement concludes a series of temporary extensions previously in place and signifies the beginning of an important phase of reorganization and modernization of urban cleaning services within the municipality. The transition aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of waste management in Nova Friburgo, addressing ongoing challenges in sanitation and waste disposal faced by the local government and its citizens.
